Based out of the rural city of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, RANT MAGGIE RANT has been wowing audiences for the past three years at festivals and concert halls all over Ontario, Canada and making inroads into the US in Ohio and Michigan.
Traditional sentimentalists love their approach as they respect traditional styles drawing on the music of the seven Celtic nations, while new Celtic music listeners are drawn to their fusion of World influences via Latin, Middle Eastern and African hand percussion, blues/rock guitar backdrops and unique rhythmic attacks.
They will move effortlessly from Irish jigs to Galicien ‘munieras’, from Scottish ‘marches’ to Breton ‘an dros’ and drive them with a lush array of revved up tempos and surprising time changes. When you thought you've heard it all, they will deliver a beautiful ballad and chase it up with a blues-infused Appalachian-style groove and end with a killer jig or reel.
