Tango Boreal

From Quebec, Quebec

Opus awarded for “Best World Album in 2011″, Tango Boreal is formed by three young, enthusiastic Canadian virtuosos, performing their creations around the world.

Tango Boreal is a laboratory for Plante's original creations where tango meets Debussy and mingles with blues.

The ensemble repertoire ranges  from waltzes, milongas, tangos to folk pieces, all inspired by Plante's travel, from the Pampa to the Taïga! At Tango Boreal core, there is the moving bandoneon of Denis Plante, broadening out its bellows like a magician tossing and catching a deck of cards, along with the sheer virtuosity of David Jacques on guitar & charango, grounded the engaged playing of Ian Simpson on the double bass.

On stage, they are having a great time, sharing comments and funny stories with the public, while offering a dazzling musical performance. With over 100 concerts last season, Tango Boreal is definitely one of the most in demand trio in North America!
